Baby Ergonomics Newsletter is edited by Brecht Daams PhD Eur. Erg. FCIEHF of Daams Ergonomie and dr. Piet van Loon, orthopaedic surgeon.

Brecht Daams is a consultant product ergonomist who specialises in products for babies and young children. As a member of various standards committees, she helps develop baby product standards. She has regularly contributed baby ergonomics columns to Dutch industry magazine BabyWereld since 2004, and she has published a book on baby ergonomics for parents (Geef je baby de ruimte! en andere tips voor babyproducten, in Dutch).

Dr. Piet van Loon is an orthopaedic surgeon and founder of Houding Netwerk Nederland (Dutch Posture Network). His tireless campaign to make children’s backs healthier stems from his experiences as an orthopedic surgeon: conditions that used to only occur in people over 65, he now also sees in children. He rediscovered and investigated forgotten or neglected knowledge regarding how even the youngest children can develop postural problems and painful spinal conditions as a result of their sedentary lifestyles and the products in which they sit. He developed a bracing technique (TLI; Thoracolumbar Lordotic Intervention) that can correct postural problems to prevent back pain.
